Service Update

As of 1/4/21

The Maryland Security Operations Center is investigating a network security incident involving the Maryland Department of Health. The Maryland Department of Information Technology, the Maryland Department of Health, and the Maryland Department of Emergency Management are working closely with federal and state law enforcement partners to address the incident and to gather additional information. Certain systems have been taken offline out of an abundance of caution and other precautions have and will be taken.

CCHD is working to determine which services are impacted by this issue and what services will be available.  We will provide updates as we are able.

In addition, due to the COVID-19 surge, many Health Department services are being offered curbside.

COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics will proceed as scheduled. Contact tracing and data updates are currently limited.

Specific service updates:

Birth certificates and Death certificates:
  • We are now able to print Death Certificates curbside, by appointment.
  • For birth certificates, we are taking names and numbers to call back when available.  People may choose to go to other locations able to print birth certificates: Howard County Health Department, Frederick County Health Department, Montgomery County Health Department and Vital Records at Reisterstown Road Plaza.  Call before you go as appointments are required for all locations except for Frederick.

WIC services continue to be available by telephone (410-876-4898) and by email (carroll.wic@maryland.gov).

AERS services are still available, though assessments may be virtual.

The dental clinic is open.  One parent or guardian is allowed per patient, and both must pass the COVID-19 screening.  Our text reminder system is not operating due to the computer situation.  Please call to confirm your appointment.

HIV testing curbside by appointment only.

Reproductive Health is temporarily providing curbside services for family planning, HPV vaccination and STI screening, as well as emergency contraception.  Annual examinations will resume as soon as safely possible.

For more information about available Environmental Health services, call 410-876-1884.

For available services where payment is required, only cash and checks will be accepted at this time.
