Secure Drop Box Locations in Carroll County

The Carroll County Health Department is hosting a Medication Take Back & Sharps Disposal Drive-Thru Drop-off in partnership with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Carroll County Bureau of Solid Waste. The event will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 8:00 AM to 12 noon at the Carroll County Vehicle Maintenance Facility, 1250 Old Meadow Branch Road, Westminster. Residents are asked to bring unused or expired medication and/or used sharps for safe disposal. Items you can bring to the event include: Prescription Medication Pet Medication Over-the-Counter Medication Supplements Vaping/Electronic smoking device batteries and e-liquids in original consumer bottles Syringes Needle tips Lancets Auto injectors Items you cannot bring to the event include: Liquid medications Illicit drugs Vaping/Electronic smoking devices* Cannabis products For more information on the household hazardous waste and shredding event, visit the Carroll County Government’s website or call 410-386-2520.

 

Unwanted or expired medication, both prescription and over the counter, in tablet, liquid, ointment, inhaler, powder or patch form will be accepted at the following locations. Loose pills and all liquid medications must be sealed in a plastic bag before dropping into a collection box.

Items not accepted are: syringes, needles, thermometers, sun block, lipstick, bandages, gauze pads, deodorants, non-prescription skin crème and similar products.
