Westminster, MD (4/5/2020) – The Carroll County Health Department today announced one additional community case of COVID-19 in the county: a woman in her 30s. The Carroll County Health Department also announced five additional COVID-19 cases in residents at Carroll Lutheran Village: two women in their 70s, a man in his 70s, a woman in her 80s, and a woman in her 90s.

There has been one additional death from Pleasant View Nursing Home due to COVID-19; a man in his 80s. All resident test results have been reported for Pleasant View Nursing Home; three additional Pleasant View staff have tested positive, bringing the total to twenty-seven staff. Health Department staff continue to follow up with individuals as needed. Support continues to be provided to the facility by many local and state partners.

The Carroll County Health Department will continue to work with the county’s long-term care facilities to increase their preparedness and response capacities for COVID-19, including the adoption of a series of enhanced protective measures as by defined Gov. Hogan’s executive order and directed today by Maryland Department of Health Secretary Robert R. Neall.
